LoDo Lofts in Denver: Urban Living at Its Best

Denver, Colorado began as a mining town that was created in 1898. This was during the time of the Pikes Peak Gold Rush which happened in the western part of Kansas and the gold fever spread elsewhere. Denver is located on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains Front Range. Its elevation is 5,280 feet above sea level. Because of its location, Denver enjoys a semi-arid climate and the mountains protect it from cold and from strong winds. Denver covers an area of 401.3 kilometers. The city is a large metropolitan area and is the capital city of Colorado. There are 79 neighborhoods located in the City of Denver and Denver County. These homes vary widely in style from the older brick homes that are located in close-in neighborhoods to the suburban homes located in more modern developments further from the city and of course LoDo lofts for a great urban lifestyle. LoDo Lofts are located in the lower downtown area. You can find the lofts located in every part of the downtown area including ones located near Coors Field. Other areas that are experiencing rapid development are Curtis Park, Highlands, Riverfront and Golden Triangle. Refurbishing of many older historic homes is also being done here and making way for more LoDo lofts to be created.

Two of the most affluent neighborhoods are located in South Denver. They are Cherry Hills and Greenwood Village. Low crime rates and much open space are enjoyed here as well as in Cherry Creek, Centennial, Aurora, Englewood and Littleton. Another development, Highlands, Ranch, is the largest planned community located in this area.

There are rural sections, as well as suburban homes. Highlands Ranch is located between Arapahoe and Douglas Counties.

West of Denver, you will find the Lakewood and Westminster suburbs. Like others in the area, these are communities which have older homes as well as new construction. There are also mountain communities nearby. Morrison, Evergreen and Conifer are mountain communities that lie in the foothills and feature fantastic views. They boast of goof courses, woodland trails and have gravel roads. To the North of Denver are located the suburbs of Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder and Lafayette. Northglenn, Thornton, Commerce City and Brighton are also communities which feature old and new homes.
